ABOUT US

History of B-Warm Racing.

It all started on October 5th, 1995 at Coventry stadium. B-Warm had purchased a car from John Wright (128). It was an ex Bobby Burns (471) special and was geared up to perform on the shale surface. After looking at every possibility, every driver available at the time Derek Hines felt that Rob Pearce (175) was the man to take B-Warm racing into the future.Rob had raced very successfully in the eighties on a limited budget. Unfortunately in the early nineties Rob was forced to retire as the costs of maintaining a Formula 1 stock rose. Rob was an aggressive driver who preferred the shale rather than tarmac. He brought a lot of success for B-Warm and the team including what could be argued the pinnacle so far, runner-up in the World Championship at Coventry.

At the end of the 1997 season B-Warm opted for a new car line-up. A shale car complete with engine and a tarmac without was bought from then superstar, Gaz Bott (41). It was in this shale car that Rob achieved his podium finish at Coventry.

Gaz was invited to drive the tarmac car around Europe and England. Gaz was very experienced at the wheel and with the help of Keith Farren and the rest of the team Gaz and B-Warm recorded sixth at the Long Track World Championship at Baarlo in Holland.

A high-speed crash at Venray also in Holland saw Gaz's career come to an end. Rob Pearce at this time also called it a day, so it was down to Derek Hines to revive the team with a new driver. Everyone had a say on who it should be. A local driver was needed with experience and an affiliation with Dutch high-speed racing. Out of the blue Derek and B-Warm announced the new driver, Gary Castell. Gary was another budget racer from the eighties. His knowledge on car set-up and driver skills earned him respect with limited technology. Gary took his uncle Andy Webb's number (247) and made his debut for B-Warm at Northampton International Raceway.

Gary now races both shale and tarmac cars. In his first full season with both cars Gary finished eighth in the National points and won a number of races.

Into the 2000's and Gary has gone from strength to strength in the B-Warm race cars. He has obtained superstar grading and finished 5th in the 2003 world final at Coventry. Other success's have seen Gary finish 3rd in the 2003 National Series. Gary won his semi final at Birmingham Wheels Raceway and has won numerous races in the last 3 years.

Gary raced a brand new shale car for the 2003 season built by FWJ Racing. Couple this with a super fast tarmac car 2003 was by far Gary's most triumphant season to date.

The 2003 season saw the introduction of Paul Hines (259) as B-Warm's number 2 driver. Paul has had 2 years experience in the V8 stock cars and has made a solid start to his F1 career winning one feature race victory at Northampton International Raceway and maintaining blue grade status for 2004.
